Yifan Sun

Maestro Yifan Sun one of China's top ten conductors and winner of the Romanian Bucharest International Young Conductors Competition, currently serves as the associate conductor of the National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra.

He has long-term collaborations with the China Symphony Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra, Kunming Nie Er Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, and Xi'an Symphony Orchestra. During his time in Germany, Maestro Sun worked with orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, WDR Symphony Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchestra, Magdeburg State Opera Symphony Orchestra, Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, and Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.

Born in 1994, Maestro Sun was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music's affiliated primary school in 2005 as the top-ranked piano student. He later gained direct admission to the affiliated middle school, studying under the renowned pianist and educator, Professor Minduo Li.

In 2014, he was admitted to the Conducting Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with the highest score, studying under distinguished conductors and educators, Professor Guoyong Zhang and Professor Daye Lin. Simultaneously, he pursued piano studies under the tutelage of the esteemed pianist and educator, Professor Jian Li, graduating with a double bachelor's degree in conducting and piano with excellent academic results.

During his time at the conservatory, Maestro Sun was selected to participate in masterclasses led by renowned conductors such as Jorma Panula, John Nelson, Thomas Sanderling, and Ronald Zollman, receiving unanimous praise. He also served as a long-term musical assistant to the celebrated composer and conductor, Tan Dun. In 2019, Maestro Sun was admitted to the Conducting Department of the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, ranking first, where he studied under the guidance of renowned German conductors, Professor Christian Ehwald and Professor Hans-Dieter Baum.
