About the performer
Wanzhe Zhang

Wanzhe Zhang is acknowledged as one of the most interesting Chinese artists today in the USA and China. She studied under the world-renowned tenor Haitao Heiat the Central Conservatory in Beijing for five years where she earned a degree in singing and opera.

She furthered her studiesunder the American soprano Karen Holvik at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and earneda Magister of Arts degree and a vocal performer degree. She obtained a doctorate in classical singing from the FMU in Belgrade in the class of Katarina Jovanović.

She actively performsin concerts and recitals throughout the world.As a part of the Х+YZ Life-long Friendship World-Concert Tour, she has performed with her husband Quan Yuan in the USA, Serbia, Greece, Montenegro and China. Since 2018, she has interpreted the role of Donna Anna in Mozart’sDon Giovanni Opera conducted by Gregory Buchalter at Kombank Hall, the Vuk Theatre in Belgrade andthe Plimpton Shattuck BlackBox Theatre in Boston. She is a member of the Tanglewood Festival Choir and regularly performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Orchestra.

She has sung inimportant world’s halls (Carnegie Hall in New York, Jordan Hall, John Hancock Hall, the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston, Luis Galve Hall in Spain, Harpa Concert Hall in Iceland, Kolarac Hall and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra in Serbia, Beijing Concert Hall, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Shanghai Oriental Art Centre, Xinghai Concert Hall in China and the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York).

Since 2017, she has co-founded the Global Intercultural Performing Arts Cast (the GIPAC) organization that gathers high-quality lecturers of performing arts and institutional partners to create an international platform for high-achieving artists in recognizable venues throughout the world. As a chairman of the Universal Artists Foundation, which falls under the scope of a non-profit organization, Wanzhe Zhang became one of the First Universal Artists Festival co-founders in 2019in cooperation with the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Columbia University Teachers College in New York, Steinway Hall, the International American Chamber Orchestra and the Symphonic Orchestra in the United Nations.
