About the performer
Srdjan Tosic

Srdjan Tosic is a full-time professor at the FMU in Belgrade. He worked as a professor at Josip SlavenskiMusic School in Belgrade, at the Faculty of Arts in Niš and at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka for a long time. He is currently working at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

A couple ofbrilliant young artists, who contributed to the affirmation of the so-calledBelgrade Guitar School,haveemerged from his class at the FMU in Belgrade. Tošić has been on the concert podium since 1985. Performing the works from the Renaissance era to the capital works of music from the 20th and 21st century, he has given a large number of soloist concerts andorchestral performances.

He has taken an active role in chamber music, performing in duos with guitarist Aleksandar Hadži Đorđević, opera singer Dubravka Zubović and flautist Ljubomir Dimitrijević. He hasparticipated in many important musical events in the country and surrounding areas (Guitar Art, Bemus, Belef, the International Tribune of Composers, Days of Mokranjac, Novi Sad Summer, Budva City Theater, etc.).

He has been a guest member throughout the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, the former USSR, the USA, Slovenia, the Netherlands and Greece. He was a prize-winner at the International Music Youth Competition (Belgrade, 1985),the Yugoslav Music Artists Competition (Zagreb, 1985) and the Andres SegoviaPrize in Santiago de Compostela (Spain, 1989). He is one of the founders of the Yugoslav Association of Classical Guitarists.
