Slobodan Geric graduated, received his master’s and doctorate degree fromthe FMU in Belgrade in the class of Nebojsa Ignjatović. He trained under Ludwig Streicher and Franco Petracchi. As a soloist, he has performed with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Klagenfurt Symphony Orchestra, the Niš Symphony Orchestra, the Strings of Saint George, the Dušan Skovran Belgrade String Orchestra,the Ljubica Marić Orchestra, the Banja Luka Academy of Arts Symphony Orchestra and the Borislav Pašćan Youth Orchestra.

He has performed as a solo double bass player of the Dušan Skovran BelgradeString Orchestra and a leader of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently a solo double bass player of the St. George String Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist and a chamber musician, he has performed with the Balkan Chamber Academy. As a member of various ensembles, hehas been a guest member of various ensembles around the world.

He was a lecturer at the Euphony project in 2019 and 2020. In 1990, he founded a double bass class at the School for Music Talents in Ćuprija. From 2006 to 2010, he was the artistic director of the same school. He is a member of various national and international juries at competitions for double bass and strings.

Besides, he is a founder of the 30th Edition of the Basomania International Double Bass Festival for which he received the Muzika Klasika Review Award for the best festival in 2021. He won the UMUS Award for the best concert in 2007, several first republic and federal awards and the 1984 October Award of the City of Belgrade for studentswith the Dušan Skovran Belgrade String Orchestra in 1990 and with the St. George Chamber Orchestra in 2006.

He won the Sreten StojanovićGolden Charter Awardat the University of Arts in Belgrade in 2022. He is a full professor and the head of department for string instruments at the FMU in Belgrade. Since 2008, he has been engaged at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka where he founded a double bass class.
