Ljubomir Milanovic received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in viola from the FMU in the class of Petar Ivanović. He furthered his specialist studies at the Guildhall School for Music and Drama in London in the class of David Takeno. He actively performs as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician.
He has performed as a soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTS Symphony Orchestra and the St. George Strings Chamber Orchestra. Besides, he has cooperated with artists such as Gordan Nikolić, Julian Rachlin, Emmanuel Pahud, Yuri Bashmet, Roman Simović, Irena Grafenauer, Ilya Grubert, Sreten Krstić, Kirill Rodin, Ksenija Janković, Wilfried Strehle, Viktor Tretyakov, James Boyd, Loiuse Hopkins and many others.
As one of the St. George Strings Chamber Orchestra founders and leaders, he has performed in concerts throughout Europe He has participated in international projects with other ensembles. He has played with the Det Jyske Chamber Orchestra in Denmark and has toured with the orchestra in Denmark, Greece and Syria. He has been a guest member of the London Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble. In 2017 and 2018, he seemed to be a member of the Belt Festival International Orchestra and the Road Festival International Orchestra in Shenzhen, China.
In addition to traditional viola literature, he regularly performs contemporary music. Composers Zoran Erić, Ivan Jevtić and Svetislav Božić have devoted some of their works to him. He is an Associate Professor at the FMU in Belgrade.
