Ljiljana Nestorovska

Ljiljana Nestorovska completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the FMU in the class of prof. Milica Barić. She actively performs as a soloist and chamber musician at numerous concerts and world harp congresses in Geneva, Vancouver, Sydney, Hong Kong, international harp festivals in Rio de Janeiro, Saint Petersburg and Zagreb.

As a soloist, she has played with many orchestras and choirs (the RTS Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, Camerata Serbica, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, etc.). Many contemporary Serbian composers have dedicated their works to her which she actively performs, presenting the local music at concert halls in the region and the world. She began her 40-year-long teaching career in Mokranjac Elementary School and continued it at the Faculty of Music in 1997when she was elected to the position of docent for the artistic field of harp and chamber music.

Since 2010, she has become a Full Professorand since 2015 has become the Dean of the Faculty of Music at the University of Arts in Belgrade. She lectured at the Academy of Music in Sarajevo. Nestorovska is a jury member at competitions and her students win over 100 awards at national and international competitions. Almost all of her students have either continued to perform actively as soloists and members of orchestras or have worked as pedagogues in musicschools.

She won the Silver Medal Award, the University of Arts Award (2003), the Award for Pedagogical Results ofthe Association of Music and Ballet Pedagogues of Serbia Award (1999) and the Harp Festival Award in Belgrade.She has been the chairman of the Polyinstrumental Section of Ballet Association and Music Pedagogues for many years. Besides, she has received numerous other awards.

She is one of the founders and a member of the Chairmanshipof the Harp Association and Harp Friends in Serbia and one of the founders and directors of the International Harp Festival in Belgrade.
