After graduating from the Music Academy in Podgorica and completing his master studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Zoran Marković perfected his double bass skills with several prominent pedagogues in Venice, Cremona, Munich, and Salzburg.
During his studies he won numerous prizes at national and international competitions.
Zoran Marković gives concerts all over Slovenia and abroad. As a soloist, he successfully performed with the Slovenian Philharmonic, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovenicum ensemble, the St. George Strings Chamber Orchestra, the Junge Bläserphilharmonie Kärnten, the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra and many other ensembles.
He is a frequent guest at European festivals such as the Oxford Chamber Music Festival, "I Suoni delle Dolomiti", the Ljubljana Summer Festival, the Stradun Classic Festival in Dubrovnik, the Storioni Festival, and the Akzente-Neue Music Klagenfurt.
From 1990 to 2004, Zoran Marković was engaged as a solo double bassist of the Slovenian Philharmonic. He has been an Associate Professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana since 2004. In addition, he is a lecturer at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana and several International Summer Academies of Music in Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, England, Germany, and Finland.
