Srboljub Dinić

Maestro Srboljub Dinić studied piano and chamber music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and continued his conducting studies in Bonn (under Prof. Wоlfgang Ott).

In 2001 Maestro Miguel Gomez-Martinez engaged him as Principal Conductor at the Opera Berne. He became Chief Conductor at the same institution in 2004, and in 2007 he was appointed Artistic Director of this house. From 2013 to 2019 he held the position of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. He has been the Chief Conductor of the St. George Strings Chamber Orchestra since 2013.

Srboljub Dinić has collaborated with the world’s leading opera stars and conducted a wide range of operas, including Manon, Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Idomeneo, I puritani, Carmen, Cavalleria rusticana, Eugene Onegin, La Gioconda, Norma, Madama Butterfly, La traviata, Macbeth, Aida, Rigoletto, Il barbiere di Siviglia and many others.

As a guest conductor, he performed at numerous concert venues and opera houses around the world, including the Staatsoper Stuttgart (2006–2009), the Teatro Massimo in Palermo (2009–2011), the Savonlinna Festival in Finland (2009–2011), the Aalto-Theater in Essen (2012–2014), as well as opera houses in Zagreb, Belgrade, and Rovigo and many others. He made his debuts at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and at the Semperoper in Dresden in 2019.

In the field of symphonic music, Srboljub Dinić collaborated with many notable orchestras such as the Berner Sinfonieorchester, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the orchestra of the Festival Avenches Opéra, the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, the Münchner Symphoniker, the Essener Philharmoniker, the Freiburger Symphoniker, the Nürnberger Symphoniker, the Staatsorchester Braunschweig, the Orquesta de Valencia, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Orchestra di Verona, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the National Theatre Belgrade, the Niš Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre Zagreb, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and others.

Maestro Srboljub Dinić has been the General Music Director of the Staatstheater Braunschweig since 2017. In addition, he is currently the Principal Guest Conductor of the RTS Music Production.
