Robert Lakatoš

Robert Lakatoš grew up in a musical family, where he firstly was mentored by his father, Imre Lakatoš. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (under Prof. Dejan Mihailović) as the youngest violin student in history of the Academy. In addition to continuing his studies at the University of Arts in Zürich (under Prof. Rudolf Koelman), he developed his professional skills studying with renowned artists such as Julian Rachlin and Roman Simović.

Robert Lakatoš won awards at numerous competitions and attracted the attention of the general music audience with achievements like Second Prize at the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition (Italy, 2011), First Prize at the Mary Smart Concerto Competition (New York, 2013), and First Prize at the prestigious Pablo Sarasate International Violin Competition (Spain, 2015).

In his capacity as a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Norway, Israel, the United States, Romania, and Greece.

As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous orchestras, including the Navarra Symphony Orchestra, the Krakow Philharmonic, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the Orquestra Filarmônica de Minas Gerais, the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de la UANL Monterrey, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia "Stanislav Binički'', and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra.

Robert Lakatoš is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and a member of the Rubicon String Quartet.

He performs on a 1709 Stradivarius violin from a private collection of bow maker Vladimir Radosavljević, whose bows he also uses.
