Lazar Miletic

Because of his incredible energy and versatility, Lazar Miletić is often referred to as one of the most intriguing Serbian violists.

His musical education started in his hative Kragujevac, then he graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade (under Prof. Panta Veličković) and continued his studies in Berlin and at The Norwegian Academy of Music (under Prof. Lars Anders Tomter). He attended master classes with numerous prominent artists such as Hartmut Rohde, Tabea Zimmermann, Yuri Bashmet, David Takeno, and Paul Wakabayashi.

He has been awarded over 30 prizes at national and international competitions.

Since his student days, Lazar Miletić has been collaborating with renowned artists and orchestras such as Lang Lang, Christian Lindberg, Isabelle van Keulen, Roman Simović, Giora Schmidt, Gavriel Lipkind, the Junge Sinfonie Berlin, the RTS Symphony Orchestra, the Dušan Skovran Belgrade String Orchestra, the Helgeland Sinfonietta and many others.

He has performed at numerous stages all over the world, including La Scala in Milan, the Kolarac Concert Hall in Belgrade, and concert halls in Berlin, Oslo, Stockholm, and São Paulo.

Lazar Miletić has been the principal violist of MiN Ensemble since 2015. He became its artistic leader in 2016.

Dedicated to music pedagogy, he has taught master classes in Oslo, Copenhagen, Portugal, and Slovenia, as well as at the School for Musically Gifted Children in Ćuprija and music academies in Belgrade, Niš, and Kragujevac. He is a guest professor at the ARLEMM Festival and the Music Academy in Porto.

Lazar Miletić is the founder and the Artistic Director of the MiN International Competition in Norway and the Art of Strings by Lazar Miletic Competition in Serbia.

He performs around 100 concerts a year, both as a soloist and a chamber musician.
