Aleksandar Sedlar

Aleksandar Sedlar is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation.

He studied composition and conducting at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade (under Prof. Vlastimir Trajković and Prof. Bojan Suđić, respectively) and at the USC Thornton School of Music (under Prof. Donald Crockett and Prof. Larry Livingstone, respectively).

Aleksandar Sedlar's music has been performed throughout Europe, Japan, the USA, and Australia.

As a composer/conductor he has collaborated with many ensembles such as the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTS Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre national d'Île-de-Francе. His chamber, symphonic, and vocal music has frequently been recorded and broadcast on Serbian national television, and published by Deutsche Grammophon and DECCA Universal. His collaborations with eminent soloists include Nemanja Radulović, Maja Bogdanović, and Patricia Petibon.

In his capacity as a studio musician, Aleksandar Sedlar has worked with numerous stars of the former Yugoslavia pop music scene. Over 50 music albums have been recorded with him playing guitar, bass, piano, and drums.

Aleksandar Sedlar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts Niš and a guest conductor at the Terazije Theatre in Belgrade.
