Stefan Ilic is a singer, violinist and composer who completed his elementary and secondary music education at the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija where he already showed an inclination towards creative work at a very young age. After graduating from the Academy of Music, he began his career as a performer in several different ensembles of classical and traditional music with which he has recorded hundreds of performances in the largest halls in the country and abroad. In 2017, he started a personal project of traditional music revival from the Balkans and founded Kalem along with Dušan Popović Lipovec.

Dusan Popovic Lipovac is a guitarist, composer and a guitar teacher. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and furthered his postgraduate studies in music research in Spain where he wrote his master's thesis on Interaction and Fusion of Balkan Music with Flamencotopic which served as a basis for his composing activity. In recent years, he has been performing as a guitarist with actor Nebojša Milovanović, singer Tamara Jokić and other names from the world of artistic music. Since 2017, he has teamed up with Stefan Ilić and started the Kalem project.
